2 Schools Placed On Temporary Lockdown After Mill Street Incident: PD


BATAVIA, IL — Two Batavia schools were placed on a temporary lockdown as a precaution due to police activity in the 400 block of Mill Street Thursday morning, officials said.

Police posted an alert on Facebook at 9:30 a.m. asking residents to stay away from the area filled with heightened police presence. Around that time, Batavia High School and H.C. Storm Elementary School were on lockdown.

The lockdown was lifted as of 10:32 a.m., according to police, who said the incident has been localized to one residence in the 400 block of Mill Street.

There is no threat to the public due to “this event,” officials said.
