Batavia man accused of reproducing child pornography

A Batavia man was charged with reproducing and possessing child pornography, officials said.

David L. Newtoff, 29, was charged Nov. 17 with 20 counts of reproducing and 20 counts of possessing child pornography, Kane County state’s attorney’s office officials said in a news release.

Between July and November, Newtoff allegedly possessed and disseminated multiple images and videos of children being sexually abused, officials said. A warrant was issued for Newtoff’s arrest and his bail was set at $100,000 with 10 percent to apply for bond.

Newtoff surrendered at the sheriff’s office on Nov. 18, posted bond and was released. He is due back in court on Dec. 5.

The investigation was conducted by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office’s Child Exploitation Unit along with the Chicago Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations of the Department of Homeland Security.
