JoClair M. Surman, of Corfu, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday morning, Feb. 1, 2023. She was born in Wheeling, W.Va., on March 29, 1934. JoClair is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Scott) Thompson of Memphis, Tenn.; her granddaughter, Zoe Thompson of Corvallis, Ore.; her brother, Raymond (Priscilla) Kuntz; sister, Mary Ellen (the late Joe) Giblin; and brother, George (Christine) Kuntz; and a large number of nieces and nephews. February 2, 2023 – 2:05pm A wind chill advisory is in effect for 4 a.m., Friday, through 10 a.m. on Saturday. The arctic cold front could also generate a 30-minute burst of heavy snow with wind gusts of 40 this evening between 8 and 9 p.m.. Whiteout conditions are possible. Coroner identifies man crushed to death by door at Milford manufacturing plant

MILFORD, Ohio — The Clermont County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was killed by a safe door at a Hamilton Safe’s manufacturing plant in Milford. Union Township police said first responders were sent to the 1000 block of Round Bottom Road for an employee who was trapped. That employee, 59-year-old John Earhart of Batavia, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to its website, Hamilton Safe Co. is one of the largest manufacturers of physical security products, pneumatic tube systems and audio/video systems. CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) – The man crushed to death by a safe door in Milford has been identified. John Earhart, 59, of Batavia, died after the door fell on him sometime Wednesday, according to the Clermont County Coroner’s Office. Union Township police and fire responded to a workplace accident at Hamilton Safe on Round Bottom Road, police said. BATAVIA — Richmond Memorial Library, 19 Ross St., is offering T-Mobile Hotspots for patrons to check out. The hotspots were received through the Emergency Connectivity Fund Grant as part of the FCC American Rescue Plan Act. They can be checked out for a period of three weeks with a valid NIOGA library card in good standing. The NIOGA Library System includes public libraries in Niagara, Orleans and Genesee counties.
