Early voting sees high turnout | Top Story

BATAVIA — While last year was pretty much a year of local elections in Genesee County, with this year’s gubernatorial race among those on the ballot, elections officials have anticipated a higher turnout for early voting.

Through the first three days of early voting (Saturday-Monday) a total of 702 voters came to the Genesee ARC Community Center, 38 Woodrow Rd., to cast their ballots early. Democratic Election Commissioner Lorie Longhany said there were 261 on Saturday, 172 on Sunday and 269 on Monday. Tuesday’s numbers weren’t final by press time.
